ZARO CAFÉ HISTORY

 

Our history began in the mid-1940s when Lázaro de Carvalho Faria, our beloved Zaro, started growing coffee at Fangueiro Farm in a small town in the southeast of Minas Gerais, Alpinópolis, affectionately known as Ventania.

Zaro, a hardworking, entrepreneurial man with a big heart, was a person of faith who left many marks and memories wherever he went, whether with family, the community, friends, or farm workers.

Married to Maria da Conceição in 1945, Zaro and his wife built a large family. Their 12 children, a testament to their resilience and determination, overcame numerous challenges, laying the foundation for our company's strength and perseverance.

His eldest son, José Lázaro, was always involved in the farm's operations alongside his father, who, in the mid-1990s, bought out his siblings' shares.

Our story continues with José Lázaro and his children, who began to invest in coffee production, caring for the work started by Zaro decades ago at Fangueiro Farm with all the love and dedication.

Zaro Café is the realization of a long-held dream. It's the dream of delivering the finest coffee from our farm to your doorstep, always with a sense of pride in carrying the name of our beloved grandfather, Zaro.
